Like it should just be over now.
And it's something that's wild.
With our responsibilities under international law, like under the Genocide Convention,
within a few days um of october's like on october 13th 2023 we should have been finding a way with other nations that were part of this legal institution and process to like send send soldiers and military to protect the people who are experiencing a genocide against the genocidal regime
But even in the absence of that, say we're not going to act in line with our duties because we're too cowardly or weak or there's going to be too much of a consequence with the global superpower or whatever it is.
If we're not going to do the thing we're required to do, the least we can do is not be in partnership with the horror, not be supporting the genocidal state, not be like...
we have a billion dollars in weapons contracts with israel it's crazy we allow them to train our police forces people who commit war crimes like somewhere around a thousand people have been committing war crimes in a genocide and then come back and they're welcome back into our society
That's so scary and unbelievable.
It's definitely gotten to a point where it's like, at least if we're not going to actively try to be involved in Land Without Duties, we at least have to cut ties and stop supporting the horror.
I mean fundamentally it's probably just like the racialised nature of β
the way that the class system is in the world.
Bodies from Western countries are considered more valuable and the media institutions and the governments and the institutional frameworks in Western countries have this kind of bias towards whiteness, towards
people who are citizens of the west and so on some level it's unsurprising that there's an outrage about this but no one no one cares about the grotesque treatment of palestinians for decades and decades
But hopefully this can be a moment to leverage that attention in a way that can see all people as human beings.
And we can start to turn our liberal democratic values into something that is actually meaningful rather than just words to justify our relative wealth and separation from the world.
There are so many ways to support the struggle from wherever people happen to be.
And it takes lots of different forms depending on your ability your capacity of as a human being Little things from like going to like a movie night or a rally in your area or supporting people who are trying to fight against the erasure of Palestine and the erasure of of Lebanon in our culture like
joining these things and being part of the family of people who are fighting for humanity, it's like meaningful and important to do as like political activity, civic duty or whatever, but it's also just beautiful.
It's like a human thing to connect with other people and understand our shared struggles and be involved in trying to create the world that we wanna live in rather than the devastation of the world that we've inherited.
going to protest, being involved in direct actions.
