board directors are more tech aware, more globally sophisticated, more dynamic and culturally fluent.
And then you said your value to a board will be assessed within this dynamic.
And you are making the point that it's not about the qualifications that you have, but what you can bring to the table.
So what trends are you seeing today in the various different public and private, privately managed companies that you're on the board of?
I know that the reason or one of the reasons you've written the book is to make a clarion call for boards to move into, as the title suggests, uncharted spaces.
But I also hear that you have a clarion call for boards to be braver.
What does that entail?
And what are the drills that you talk about then, Shefali?
Well, and it's that point that I want to particularly ask you my last question about.
You make the point that shareholder activism is growing.
Do you think that's a good thing?
Well, thank you very much for that insight.
And it's a genuinely workbook focused book.
I will say that for anybody who is thinking of starting off as a board member or also for anybody who is looking to attract them to critique what you need them to do.
I find that Unchartered Spaces is definitely worthwhile.
Thank you very much indeed, Shefali Yogendra and every best wish with the book.
Thank you.
