But it deserves a home on a record.
So I'm doing my best to get that EP out this summer as well.
So that's my pitch.
My name is Suzanne Tripp.
I'm also going to send some emails wherever I can find them on your website.
And I hope that you will consider having me.
Thank you so much.
Yeah, for sure.
Thanks for having me.
So, yeah, I'm a songwriter and I love turning true stories into songs.
And one that was always passed down in my family was about my Nana.
In 1964, she was a sharpshooter and she joined a competition against 79 men and she won first place.
And the following year, the judges of that competition changed the rules to make it so that you had to load your own rifle.
And they have a very stiff lever.
And so it was like a safety update on paper.
But from then on in.
Like women, obviously, and anybody smaller couldn't shoot the guns in the competition anymore.
And she never competed again.
So I wrote it into a country song because I thought that it was meant to be one.
Yeah, it was really surprising.
