It's just the logical progression that we now can weave together information that has been here and there in various silos.
We're still the ones who should be making the decisions, and we should be wary of one really important thing.
When you think about how much about the ocean do we know, we know more than anyone has ever known before.
But the number of people who have actually been in the ocean to witness what's there, in the amount that has been seen by anybody, it's a tiny little piece of our principal reality.
Life support system.
So we're just beginning to ask the right questions.
And as we learn and put it into the database, we can just have an opportunity for the first time to wrap our minds around this is how the world works.
And this is what we've been doing that is causing harm to the systems that make Earth
We have created this, what we call sometimes this sixth extinction.
There have been five times in the history of the Earth when things, not because of us, but because of natural phenomenon, Earth has gone through rapid change.
And here we are, we are the agents of change, creating the sixth great loss of life on the planet.
So far, we have a planet that kind of works in our favor, but we're pushing the edge, the boundaries of what keeps us safe.
Think about changes in temperature, changes in the chemistry of the atmosphere, changes in the chemistry of the ocean,
This is not great news.
So, next ten years, maybe the next five years, maybe right now, what are you doing this afternoon?
Why not start right now to do whatever you can, armed with knowledge that nobody had before?
They build submarines.
They build equipment to explore and understand the ocean.
Now, just imagine, think about this.
What would we know about the world if aviation had never gotten off the ground?
