It's a fair assessment.
I didn't go back because I had the ability to reflect and to know what it is I needed to do to not go back.
There's lots of different theories about why that's happening.
Ultimately, I think it's, you know, the criminalization of lower level offending.
Yeah.
It's also strengthening domestic violence laws that attributes to more women being captured into a prison system because of those laws.
So, I mean, as a copper, you know, like when a DV incident occurs, the cops come out and often at the moment what they do is they put an order on both of the people.
Yeah.
And because they're not giving them the tools to actually work on their relationship, those people might separate for that day and they get the cross order.
So they're both being charged with being domestic violence, whatever.
Then they come back together again because they're in a relationship and they love each other.
And the cops get caught again.
They've both breached it, even if he's the aggressor or even if she's the aggressor.
But they both get charged.
And often with those women who are getting the cross orders put on them, they might have a history because they come from that demographic because the cops aren't coming out to like a privileged white woman's house and a man and cross ordering them both.
It's often just one.
Yeah.
So they both go to prison.
Yeah.
So that's one of the reasons.
