It impacts our social services sector.
So when we are putting a woman in prison for a driving offense, not only does it cost our taxpayers money, but it's also costing the other women that are in there who now won't get a portion of their resources because we have an additional woman in there that shouldn't be there.
So if we removed the people or the women that didn't require punishment by prison,
We would have enough resources to ensure that the women that are in there that did do, you know, acts of violence against another person that have done some significant harm, they would actually get the services and support they needed to get out and not come back.
And that is the point of our justice system.
Yeah.
It's a very, very small minority of people who will probably never change their behavior because of brain chemistry, because they have experienced so much harm as young people or infants, or it's just their genetic makeup.
And that's a whole different conversation, right?
But that is like less than 1%, less than half a percent, if I remember correctly.
Yeah.
Those kinds of people are the persistent, dangerous people in community.
Yeah.
And I'm not talking about like, I've got kids.
I live in a community.
I also want to feel safe, you know, but the problem is, is that the more that we put the majority in prisons, the less safe we are.
It's about how we communicate that message to people.

So it's like a small coastal community north of Brisbane in Queensland.
