It's exploded since I grew up there.
But, you know, we grew up riding our bikes on the streets, not coming home till the streetlights came on.
And, you know, we knew everyone in our street and we had a whole like little gang of us that kind of hung out on the street.
Not a gang.
We had BMXs.
Wrong use of words.
Yeah.
I mean, you know, we obviously experienced some hardship.
My dad went to prison when I was eight.
I'm going to talk about it more in the book, but yeah, we, you know, we had those kinds of challenges.
I had three brothers and mom, just mom and mom worked and it was, it was challenging for a few years, but
You know, in amongst all of that, my dad coached the football team, like my brother's football teams.
My mum made my dance costumes and, you know, we had a roof over our head and food on the table and I went to a good high school.
And, you know, overall I had a pretty straightforward childhood apart from that.
Yeah.
And I think too, part of it is my dad's empathy for the fact that he knew what's going on.
Yeah.
And it wasn't this really unknown territory.
Like he kind of knew and they stood by me the whole time.
Let's not clip this down so that it just says gangs.
