I mean, I had no idea what was going on every month and what I was dealing with.
So what would you want them to know?
paying attention to these different stages, because we're talking about stages that start pretty young.
Yeah, so if there is somebody listening that goes, oh my gosh, yes, I went through it, or my daughter's now going through it, and I'm watching this happen, what do you do?
how your body responds to your monthly cycle is that indicative of what's going to happen down the line do these all kind of affect each other so how your body responds to your cycle when you're younger will that affect what happens when you go into perimenopause or it's really interesting this is a question people have looked at again and again and unfortunately it's one of those questions where we don't totally know the answer okay
of clues yeah it's not it's not that yes black or white um what about with how your mother goes through perimenopause or menopause i know a lot of us didn't talk to our moms about it hopefully as the millennials are coming up that is changing and you go to your mother and say hey what's what's going on with me is that what do i expect when i go into this next transition is there a correlation there so it's interesting so we certainly think that the most
Well, you know, none of it's really clear, right, in terms of perimenopause or menopause.
I do think a lot about this.
So, you know, I speak a lot about it, just awareness and advocacy and have done the films.
And what's interesting is that, and even for myself, I think I was very confused by this, but when women inevitably ask, am I still in perimenopause or have I gone into menopause?
And, you know, what do I need to know?
So can you talk about these different stages that we have?
It's funny you say that because I didn't realize really until about...
I mean, just through research and stuff, but it took a few years of understanding how long that transition actually was.
And there are different stages of the perimenopause transition.
Let's break it down.
So we're talking about the early years, the first part of the shift into perimenopause, still considered perimenopause?
Well, so let's go back just for a minute.
So when you're in this shift, in this middle area, which is very confusing, first of all, you can still get pregnant.
No, 100%.
