An amateur could open that lock in minutes, a professional in seconds.
The top deadbolt and the bottom key and knob is what we train our locksmiths.
That's the first locks they play with.
They learn how to pick that.
Within the hour, they're picking those locks.
It's not a high security lock at all.
To pick the lock, first of all, it has to be a lock that's not high security.
So if it's a regular house lock, business lock, et cetera, you apply turning pressure.
And then there's a couple of different methods of picking.
One is raking.
You sort of rake the pick in and out as you apply tension.
The other method is what we call SPP or single pin picking.
And that's when you become more advanced and you can pick the lock one pin at a time.
And there's five pins in the lock that you showed me the picture.
There's five pins.
And it's a pretty simple lock to pick.
They don't have to break anything.
There's several methods to open that lock.
It's extremely easy to pick open.
