I think when you see a staff get decimated to the extent that the Boston Red Sox did, that's a pretty dramatic move.
And, you know, I don't work there.
I'm not behind the scenes there.
But I think it speaks to...
other issues that may be afoot.
And, you know, were these guys particularly affiliated with Alex Cora?
They all seem to, by and large, predate the hiring of general manager Craig Breslow.
And so maybe these guys were not as aligned with him and he retained the people who were more aligned with him.
But I don't know if that speaks to a greater rift that was going on behind the scenes.
It certainly gives indication of that.
If that wasn't the case, I hope that wasn't the case for Boston, but certainly these types of actions would give you some pause to think that maybe there was something more going on behind the scenes here because it's a very dramatic move.
And this is a team that made the playoffs last year.
They felt they made some improvements in the offseason and were aspirational of going deep into the playoffs this year in what, as you guys know, is one of the toughest divisions in all of baseball, the American League East.
And here they're making such wide-scale changes to their coaching staff, a coaching staff that as recently as this past offseason they felt was a championship-caliber coaching staff because that was what their goal was this year, was to contend for a championship.
And here we are 27 games later when not only it proves that they don't no longer believe in their ability to take them to the championship, but they felt they had to make such a dramatic shift and change within that clubhouse.
That seems very significant to me.
Well, I think you guys can attest that once a grown man turns about 31, they become varying degrees of useless after that.
So these old guys, these old guys over there in their 30s just has been.
So I think it's an insightful question.
I think you are evaluating the age of the roster differently.
