Remember how much time we spent early in the playoffs talking about
how annoying all the post whistle scrums were.
And I felt like all these games were dragging on, I think maybe one or two over the course of these two games combined.
It feels like they're just playing whistle whistle, playing really hard back and forth hockey.
And so I think the, the on ice product itself has been about as good as you could hope for.
Yeah, I mean, Vegas has a lot of good players.
I'm not sure one of those players is Erasmus Anderson, and he was the one player who they repeatedly forced into those mistakes you're describing.
And so that probably will be a blueprint, especially if Braden McNabb is going to be out for Game 3 and beyond, which it looks like based on the nature of that injury he suffered in Game 2.
And so, yeah, I think stylistically it's a fascinating series as well because Carolina scored, what, eight goals in these two games, and so they've created a ton of offense, yet none of it's really been in zone through that sort of
vintage hurricane style of like cycling the puck and shooting from the point and trying to get tips and rebounds they've been scoring off the rush or off the forecheck pretty much essentially and then a couple power play goals at the end of game two and so they haven't really broken through this vaunted Golden Knights defensive structure that we've seen throughout this postseason and yet it hasn't mattered so far and so I feel like for all the time we spend talking about how this Hurricanes team is more prolific offensively like this has been also very vindicating to see that they're actually having
struggling to score and I was talking to Shana Goldman about potential tweaks to that line or things Rod Brindamore can try breaking them up what do you see as potential options for Brindamore to get them more effective on a shift to shift basis yeah we saw them make that switch kind of what like halfway through the second period when they were down to nothing already at that point I mean it obviously worked from the perspective of they came back to win the game Seth Jarvis scores the big goal I do like Jarvis
I don't love Martinuk on the top line with Aho and Svechnikov.
Ultimately, they've been so inefficient offensively, and he's a guy who's probably one of their most inefficient players offensively, and so I don't think that's going to suddenly spark them
I imagine we'll probably see Jarvis back there, at least to start.
It feels like that was kind of a breaking case of emergency, like last-ditch option to salvage that game.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing a guy like Eric Robinson, for example, up there.
I know it's at this point of the postseason.
bumping up a fourth liner to essentially your first line is a very bold move especially in a 1-1 series but that line with him Jankowski and Carrier has had so much juice this entire postseason and he has been flying around the ice helped set up the Jankowski goal in that third period and so I'd like to kind of see him maybe up there instead if they're not going to roll with Jarvis but you're right I mean it's remarkable that they're three games away from the Stanley Cup with how little they've gotten from those three guys.
