An executor?

They really did bring in a guy that, at least in terms of the concerns that I've been talking about the last two weeks, goes a fairly long way in addressing them.

Is it enough?

I would say no.

But in terms of what this first Ryan Johnson, Henrik Daniels sitting offseason looks like, right?

Just like we know that the Canucks franchise isn't going to get turned around simply with who they pick third, we should know that it's not going to get turned around either in one offseason.

And at the very least, I feel like the Canucks now have enough to hold the fort.

Right.

And I think the hope should be

Then on the other side of July 1, as they sit and think and reflect and look at sort of what happened, hopefully there'll be other changes.

Hopefully there'll be other promotions.

You know, one other thing that Ryan Johnson hasn't done is he hasn't changed the structure of this front office.

Right?

And when we were talking about Tolsky's emergence in 2018, VP hockey...

operations and energy or something like that yeah well that seems like a pretty good role like what what about promoting uh whether you're bringing in a nerd from outside what about promoting a ryan beach or a aiden fox into a role like that yep what about symbolically and in fact empowering you know some of the smart people that the canucks already employ right what anyway that's stuff that can wait another day in the meantime the canucks have moves to make

And hopefully these moves will be part of the story that we're telling about the Carolina Hurricanes in 2018 when they took Andrei Svechnikov second overall and began to put in place all these pieces and traded Victor Rask for Nino Niederreiter and began to collect small wins that over the course of eight years accumulated into being this incredible team that went 16-3 in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

And then after Vegas beat them two of the first three, but that third game, you could feel it shift.

You could feel that like, oh man, this Carolina team has the guns.

That they haven't had in previous series.
