We deserve nicer coverage as opposed to embracing the challenge of managing this market.
This market does come with...
different stakes, different attention.
That is a challenge to overcome.
How do you meet that challenge?
How do you approach that challenge?
Because all we ever seem to see and hear is like belly aching over this sense of negativity that hangs over Rogers arena.
And it does, by the way, like multiple high level hardened NHL players have talked to me about it, but that negativity, by the way,
Part of it is the media attention, but also part of it's the way fans sound when the team goes down at a key home game.
Some of that's the organization's reaction to various players or when things don't go their way.
Some of that's internal.
And this is also where, like, we already know because it was leaked to Gary Mason that we're not going to hear from ownership at the end of the season.
So we're going to hear from a president of hockey operations who based off of Elliott Friedman's formulation is safe because there's no one else to announce the potential internal replacement of a head coach who is likely to finish this year with fewer regulation wins than the Canucks managed the season.
They all got COVID, which also only played 56 games.
And the general manager who was not permitted to be involved in the trading of his franchise player.
Like, does any of that make sense to anybody?
And ownership feels no sense of obligation while raising ticket prices.
You know, continuing to have an acrimonious relationship, an adversarial relationship with the media and like courting that.
and asking the city potentially for hundreds of millions of dollars in public funds to address the direction of the franchise with the market itself.
Like that's, that's where we're at.
