Just like Saquon wouldn't have been the player that he was last year with the New York Giants last year.
He hasn't forgotten about it, but he just wanted to add levity because that's an awkward question to ask because it was so damn long ago.
But his answer was spot on, man.
Of course you see ghosts.
Of course you were disgruntled at some point in your career.
But you always have to work on getting better.
And he's done it.
He's just in a better environment.
He's had better mentors over the last β
three years or so on the multiple teams that he's been on, San Francisco, Minnesota, and obviously now with Seattle.
And he's mature.
He sounds so and feels so different than he did when he was with the Jets.
And we talked about this last week.
He was so young when he came into the league.
And you think that it's just automatic.
Hey, man, this kid's been playing football since he was a senior or whatever, sophomore in high school and goes through college.
Yeah, they're ready for the game.
A lot of guys aren't, right?
It's different when you start playing with grown-ass men as opposed to the kids that you're playing with in college.
And it felt like that, especially in a pressure-packed place like New York.
