They use the power of government to try to force everything towards a certain direction. And this also affects costs in medicines, too, because there's no motivation for companies to get in early with generic forms of medicine. And so it doesn't drive down the costs of pills that way. I mean, if you remember Lipitor, which is a cholesterol drug, now with generics in there, you can get your cholesterol drugs for pennies, really. because of generics.
