But in the time that I've spent with him, I find that he can be incredibly unassuming, incredibly vulnerable, and he's really clear that the folks that he's listening to on the ground are paying no attention to the broader conversation of controversies, and instead are insisting that he and others
take the best practices from the things that they like about Barack Obama, the things that they like about Donald Trump, the things they appreciated about Joe Biden's empathetic investments in working people, and to apply them in ways that could help them make some ground because they feel as if they've been losing ground for a generation.
I hear you on that.
He's interesting.
He's doing things differently.
