She just brings people along everywhere she goes.
And at its heart, it's what it is.
I like that.
There's someone standing up and saying, you know, why is that new building the size it is?
Why doesn't it have more green space?
Or why are all the shops empty?
Why don't we have more shops?
And I think Kate found it really hard to keep her shop going.
And we love shops.
And this is the dumb thing about us.
We all know how nice they are to visit.
The feeling you get when you walk into a fabulous shop is, oh, God, this is nice.
Someone's curated a space.
There's a person there that I can talk to.
I can ask questions.
Someone could put it in a nice bag and give it to me and perhaps tell me where it came from and tell me where there's another shop around the corner.
All the things that we love about the experience.
And then we still buy things online and wonder why the shop's disappearing.
just a place for me you know and these are my people and it is a live experience isn't it because yes you might buy a jacket or not you might just have a big long chat to somebody about a ceramic bowl that's i think it's a wonderful way of looking at it the theater it's that's the attraction isn't it you go in it's like open all hours isn't it there's a little bell goes when you open the door and the scene starts and the conversation starts
Which is sort of what we all want really, to be able to go to a place that's not a supermarket, not a chain store.
