And I think that's going to be a real challenge for her, actually, because
Now she's running, but being put in charge in CBS.
What is she going to do when the first call comes from the White House telling her they hate the story that's in preparation, you know, and she is supposed to be defending journalism?
I think that's going to be very, very difficult, frankly, for her.
And if I'd been advising her, I would have said, take the money for the free press, but don't get involved with CBS.
But she didn't ask my opinion on that.
Well, I actually didn't read it because I'd heard so much about it that by the time I got it, I sort of didn't want to read it.
Look, I left behind a whole team.
I mean, whether they were so versatile or not, I have no idea.
I mean, at that point, my head was totally in the New Yorker.
So, you know...
If they were subversive, it had nothing to do with me because I was out of there.
I mean, I'm very much a person who the door shuts and I'm gone.
You know, I was deep in the New Yorker's very challenging culture itself of having all these old guard people who I had to woo.
fire or romance or whatever.
So I wasn't involved in his first two years.
I had nothing to do with any of that.
And as to have there being nothing lying around, I'm surprised to hear that because there were a lot of great pieces that were left behind.
So yeah, no, but he did a great job himself.
