So I expect that we'll make some progress over the coming weeks, yeah.
Well, I just think that's a byproduct of what we're talking about, that โ
I was talking to Alan Border about this some years ago, last year when I saw him over the summer.
Despite the fact in his generation, players would have wanted to be paid more, they lacked leverage because they didn't have choice.
Players have distinct choice now.
They have...
leverage at the table.
And as I said before, is the current MOU and the way we generate revenues for players fit for purpose for the next generation of player?
Will that hold us in good stead for the next round?
And I do think that we have to look deeply at that because
Players now can earn significant amounts of money outside of the MOU and outside of their central contracts, which, by the way, is a great thing for players.
And we've got to encourage that.
But we need to also protect our system.
And so that's a real challenge for us.
It's a challenge for the players, too, because this current generation of players all have one thing in common.
They all desperately want to play for their country.
Um, it's the next generation of players that has occupied my attention because we've got to make sure they have the same ambition and level of stickiness to the Australian system.
