Here's what's funny.
He was contacted out of the blue by a friend he knew as a teenager back in China.
Is that crazy?
His friend was a spy now for China's Ministry of State Security, and he recruited Ping to be what they call a cooperative contact, secretly gathering intelligence for the Chinese as directed by his high school buddy.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
His handler, his buddy from high school back, you know, when they were 12 or whatever, asked him to gather information about Chinese dissidents, Chinese people here in the U.S.
