Weights was just coming in when we were kind of coming towards the end.
I was very sceptical of it because I was afraid it would affect what I already had and what I already had in my head was good enough to perform at the levels.
We had no understanding of it.
I don't think our coaches had an understanding of it.
We definitely didn't have the S&C from a professional point of view trained up.
So I wasn't going to be trusting somebody that it wasn't their job or anything like that.
So we were given programs to do.
I was down in Cork.
I'd do it.
I'd live.
I wasn't killing myself down with it.
If we were doing reps of 10, I might do a rep of four or whatever.
I wasn't strong enough.
We were always, from a young age, from a very, very young age,
uh we always uh party was big into your own body weight so you do dips you do press-ups you do sit-ups and we were doing that from since we were about 10 or 11. under gates down the beach so that's that stuff made sure we were we were strong enough to deal with what we had to deal with would it be good enough now probably not i don't know but i'd love sometimes you'll be thinking like would you like to play in the modern game i would would you like to
prepare and have the body i'd love to know what it was like um for us to prepare like they prepare now and how we will do and how how you would um it's brilliant it's like we have the 20s and i i wouldn't you see them tugged off ah jesus i'm telling you they're they're men like they're they they'd embarrass you yeah embarrass you could have been you and love island you know
