Most people wouldn't have recognized that.
And I 100% associate that to my yoga practice for 30 years now, is that I truly believe that because of the way I practice, I am connected to my body in a way that I think a lot of people aren't.
And it gave me the ability to recognize when something wasn't maybe hitting the normal parameters that it typically does.
Um, so I'm a huge component of promoting yoga just from that.
Let me understand my body and understand when something isn't right.
And again, it's not a prescription to say I won't ever have a heart attack.
And I had to deal with that myself going, Oh my goodness, I'm a yoga teacher.
I should maybe be ashamed of that and go, No, I was able to listen to something that wasn't quite right because of that.
yep and again there are so many styles out there uh yeah and and purposes and you know every the the fun thing and sometimes a challenging thing with a practice being around for thousands of years is everybody's going to have their take on it and evolve it to be something unique to them at lifetime we made the constant conscious choice
To go anything that is on our schedule, we want to make sure it does two things.
Is that it's not just moving the body, but it takes people beyond the physical and helps them understand how they're showing up mentally in the world.
And so each of our classes is meant to poke the stress responders in unique ways and then teach breathing techniques that help them understand what their habitual responses are to that.
But when we look at the broad stroke of what you see out there, Hatha you'll see on schedules, which I laugh at a little bit because like I said before, it's the umbrella for any physical form of yoga.
But typically when you do see Hatha, it's going to be a slower, more mindful, almost
iangar-esque and you'll see that out there as well as a style iangar is sometimes known as the is a person from india that is known as the father of modern day yoga because he wrote so many books that actually made it more accessible in the west for us to start understanding what the concepts of yoga were but very focused on using props and things to meet the individual body where it is so there are these slower forms
Restorative yoga is going to have a ton of props and it feels good and yummy.
You get into it and you almost could take a nap because you put 13 pillows underneath your belly, a strap around your ankle, and it's meant to increase blood flow through the muscles.
Now, on the other side of that, the yin to the yang.
