Keep looking at where is the, whether it's a teacher or a style, make sure you're getting curious and going, well, which one do I connect with?
Because some meditation practices are going to be a little bit more guided, you know, and that helps on a surface level to sometimes focus the stories.
what the buddha taught was if we can just get in touch with what is known as anapanasati so breath focused and just feel my breath it trains the mind to become singular focused and then eventually you can start to feel the vibrations of your body and so sitting here right now your your listeners can sit there and go do i feel any vibrations
Typically, we don't because our mind is so caught up in everything in our environment that's going on that it's hard to feel it.
But there is sensation and vibration that we can feel on the surface and eventually even inside.
And when we become connected to that, it's much easier to live our lives in a state of what some people would call trance or bliss, which just means that I'm no longer driven by the stories or the reactions of my mind.
I mean, at Lifetime, we really do try to bring together two main ways of helping people connect to
you know, just themselves, wherever they are in life.
And one of those is, can I become more mindful?
So mindfulness is where that meditative quality comes in, is the mind.
So somatic is, I'm starting to call it more and more a buzzword.
It seems to be really popping up through 2025.
I have a feeling it'll be there through at least 2026.
But somatics is anytime that you're mindful around sensation that is at the body, breath, or mindfulness in anything.
And so a typical class at Lifetime is going to start with two to three minutes of just allowing you to show up.
And I think that is truly key to any practice that anybody does.
So whether you're going to go run on a treadmill or lift weights, go for a walk in nature, give yourself two to three minutes to simply, you know, sometimes putting a hand on your chest will help you just ground and connect to you and start to listen to your body because we get too caught up in life and everything else that's around us that we forget that
