nonchalant about it, not overly forthcoming with a ton of information other than to say, yes, she just didn't come home.

We're separated.

He and his youngest daughter had just gotten back from Florida the day before.

Separated living together, yes.

so and um they were starting to date other people at the time right so cheryl was dating other people he was dating somebody in particular and um so there was some red flags going off to officer brewer who's a seasoned veteran i mean now he's been at the police department for about 20 years he knew something was wrong and that's why he told his his supervisor the sergeant at the time who in turn in the morning came in and advised a couple of the detectives one of one in particular

and i was not there for that because i would you typically work a little bit later hours like you know 10 to 6 as opposed to like eight to four so i wasn't there when when this verbally was was reported to us so um early evening hours of the third is when i start you know digging into this person and cheryl and her situation and trying to figure out you know

is this woman just go somewhere to blow off some steam or what have you, or what's going on here?

So several hours later, I would say at about eight 30 ish, I get a phone call from Margie, the sister who made the initial report all these hours previously at midnight.

And she's like, Hey, we found Cheryl's car.

It's in a parking lot.

Literally not even a half mile from their house.

in a very small shopping center where there was a bar tavern right there.

Her car was parked there, excuse me, her SUV.

So I called the on-call detective because that's protocol.

And this person answered the phone and was like, you know, what's going on?

So I told this person and their response was, well, what do you want me to do about it?

I'm not coming in for this.

What do you want me to do about it?

And I'm like, okay, I guess it's my case now.
