So that is, you know, now that you point this out, because this is, I'll be honest, the first time I'm seeing this, I'd seen a different image before.

What this makes me think is that it was never deployed.

What this makes me think is that the lifeboats, like whatever happened to the ship was so sudden that when the ship went down...

the ship itself might have landed on this lifeboat.

Yeah.

Parts of the ship itself, whether it be smokestacks or fences or just pieces of cargo, might have bashed it further, scraped it, dragged it, pulled it apart, and then for some reason it stayed afloat to be found.

Damn, that is ripped up.

It is haunting, actually, to look at that, to see the huge dents, like treated like a paper boat.

So to recap real quick, they found two lifeboats, debris, life jackets, and unfortunately, no sign of survivors.

Now, much later into the night, it's around 10 p.m., the Coast Guard is able to launch the HU-16 aircraft to search the scene.

These are water landing and takeoff aircraft to prop, and so I imagine the storm had died down a little bit enough to make this safe.

And they also dispatched two cutters.

You have the Naugatuck and the Woodrush, and they arrived on scene November 11th and November 14th, respectively.

The search lasted for several months.

with several sonar scans being conducted to locate the debris.
