They didn't fill it.

It had dregs in it.

You know, it had about 50 gallons out of the total 13,000 gallons it could have held.

So it's essentially empty for all intents and purposes, but the fuel in the wings, those tanks, they're full.

Wow, to think about, right?

Yeah, it's like thinking about your car and your gas being stored in the side mirrors.

It just doesn't compute.

There might be.

It depends on the aircraft in particular, but there's, like, tanks in it.

Oh, okay.

And that's so that way, you know, the human part of the plane is, I'm guesstimating, like, two-thirds of the capacity.

So if you took a cross-section of the fuselage, it's, like, round.

The floor is maybe two-thirds down.

Below that, you could put the fuel tanks, but that's where luggage goes and other sorts of equipment and things.

And so there are a few fuel tanks like this one underneath, but it becomes efficient to just say, well, we don't need a whole lot out on those wings.

So let's go ahead and put the fuel out there.

Weight distribution, center of gravity, all these sort of equations go into play.

But suffice to say, you got fuel in the wings.

And right now though, I want you to keep focused on the center wing fuel tank, which again, should be empty on this plane.

That's where they're saying the explosion took place.
