All right, let's dive into the Battle of Mons.

And Christian, I'm going to hold you with the Tolkien knowledge until later on, but listen, I've got Tolkien all over my shelf.

I want to know the answer if he was inspired by this story, but we'll dive into that in a second.

So the origins of the Angels of Mons, this legend, it dates back to August 23rd, 1914.

And on this day, the British army had its first involvement in World War I. This was the Battle of Mons.

And this battle was one of a series of battles.

I'm going to do a lot of history truncation, but if you find this interesting, there is a lot to explore.

This was one of the many battles that kind of was called the Battle of the Frontiers.

And obviously, you know, we are on the precipice of the Great War, the war to end all wars.

We know now with history, it wasn't the case, but that's the energy.
