Holy rubble.
Yikes.
I can picture myself in that theater.
It was almost empty.
Ends on a cool little upswing there.
So they're desperate now to chase these ships down because all these years and months of no pay...
becoming desperate, really just digging deep.
It's like a sunk cost fallacy.
They're like, all right, if we're going to go in, let's go all the way in.
We've already attacked the English Empire.
We've already recruited from the Danes and other people.
So we've already made enemy of multiple nations.
What's one more?
So they chase it down.
And in doing this, they actually lose a few of the ships because some of them are just not up to speed.
So some of them drop off.
Maybe they get a little fearful and turn away.
We don't know.
But ultimately, as you kind of astutely pointed out, this highlights the feeble nature of this alliance built on greed.
