How are you going to rope together multiple pirates when they're all so used to fighting for themselves?
Yeah.
So some are peeling off.
Some are just too slow.
They get left behind.
In the end, most of the pirate fleet had just been too slow to catch up to the convoy, which is partially why we end up with so few.

There's no way to quickly, like, you can't phone them.
And even raising a flag to communicate something.
Blue means speed up, you know?
Like, even doing that takes a whole person to go get the flag, put it on, raise it up, lower it, interpret it.
You're wasting man time looking at these flags when you should be hoisting sails or whatever.

So the Fancy is obviously fast enough.
This is the center of the fleet and it captures or catches up to the lumbering escort ship called the Fath Mamamadi.
Once it caught up to the Mamamadi, it had a brief battle before the lumbering ship surrendered.
They said, all right, fine, listen, insurance, whatever, our lives.
An estimated 50,000 British pounds worth of gold and silver were acquired from this vessel.
Not to be confused with like weight pounds, but like British sterling pounds.
So $50,000 in the late 1600s, big fortune.
