That was very odd to see.
He didn't even go up for the dunk.
But you have to just think that as the series goes on, he's going to get more comfortable playing on his knee, though he did have that moment where he landed weird and was kind of limping around and then it wasn't a big deal afterwards.
But yeah, it was encouraging to see this dude in pregame absolutely dripping in sweat.
I've never seen a wetter person than him.
during pregame I was like oh he is giving it his all just to be back on the court here and he definitely lifted their spirits and once he hit his first couple of jumpers you're like okay the Wolves believe they can win and that just kind of filtered on down to everybody like I don't know if you can rely on 12 points per game for Mike Conley but when he hits four threes you better win the game when TJ Shannon's having an impact like he had yesterday you gotta win that kind of game yeah
Make a shot.
That would help.
Yeah.
Wemby in particular.
He was pretty out of sorts on offense.
I thought Rudy was giving him a ton of problems when they were going big versus big and then the physicality that the rest of the Wolves brought when Wemby was sitting β or when Rudy was sitting β
made it pretty tough on Wemby and like clearly they've scouted when he dribbles the ball keep your hands low and try and strip it they were very active just deflecting and making it awkward for Wemby I think it'll start with him hitting some three-pointers like that loosens things up inside Spurs need to figure out a way to get him the ball on the move a lot more with Gobert's feet kind of flailing he doesn't want to change direction
all that often.
You saw a couple of times when they get Wemby like rumbling down the court.
It was tough for Gobert to back up and get a contest on him.
So I think that's a huge thing.
I have to think that the Spurs will do a better job of figuring out a way to get him the ball inside when it's a small lineup.
Like they just could not get him the ball when he had position in the paint.
Credit to the Timberwolves defenders giving ball pressure, which makes it hard to throw the passes, but they need to be able to get him the ball in scoring positions.
