You know it was being... You were in charge of the water. I mean, what was going on with the water? You remember that?
Yeah, arguably hours later and more nutrient deficient than I needed to be, but yes, for sure.
Oh, this again. The four-wheel drive thing again. Come on. No, they don't. It's a good point, Troy.
We talked about it for, like, ten minutes already when we were on the mountain.
Thank you. Laura, I will say, if you do go outdoors with any of your friends or family, God help them.
I'm just grateful it wasn't anything more than a hurt ankle. I don't think I'd be here today if it was anything more than that.
Okay.
Yeah, she's been texting me a whole bunch. I don't know if I'm feeling it, to be honest with you. That's kind of why I didn't reach back out to her.
Uh, I think you guys have the story wrong. If that's what you guys really think happened. Okay.
Well, there isn't a, my version, there's just the version. And I don't know what she told you exactly, but yeah, My ankle was banged up. I mean, you guys are laughing about it, but it was pretty bad. Like, it was swollen immediately. I couldn't walk on it.
Yeah, kind of. At first, she tried to carry me down, and she kind of... dropped me back on my ankle and hit it again. Oh, no. Okay.
I get that. I get that. Okay. She didn't have service or whatever, and neither did I, so she said she's going to walk down the trail a little bit until she gets service. She disappeared for at least a half an hour. She came back. She was all excited, and I was like, okay, good. Did you find somebody on the trail? She said, no, no, no. I called an Uber.
That's what I said to her. And she basically was like, oh, I didn't think about that. I was like, yeah, they can't drive up the mountain to just come pick me up in the car. That's not how this works.
Yeah, we were talking about it, and basically I was trying to advise her, look, call EMTs, call emergency service, call friends, anybody that you can think of. I need some help out here. So she did do that, which is nice. And while we were sitting there waiting, she said that she figured out how to make, like, a homemade tourniquet for my leg.
She wanted to get some sticks and branches. Oh. Wrap up my leg or something like that. It was like being stuck out there with Nurse Ratched in the mountains. Nurse Ratched? What, like she didn't do a good job? Yeah, I didn't need a tourniquet. I had a sprained ankle, all right? I wasn't losing any blood or anything like that. The limbs didn't need to be chopped off. It was a very simple thing.
I just needed help. Sure, but it couldn't hurt.
Yeah, no, her best was just shockingly bad. That's all, maybe.
Hey, good afternoon, Dave. Hey, George. Quick question about retirement. 56 years old, currently working Baby Step 2. Only have about $70,000, $80,000 in our retirement fund and wondering if we should at least contribute up to the employee match before retirement. We get to the end of baby steps, which is baby step two, which will be in about two and a half years.
About $70,000. On what? Personal loans stemming from... We had some repairs from Hurricane Ian that insurance didn't cover. We just had those put in place. I have a student loan that we're wrapping up and a car payment. What's your car worth? About $18,000.
About $70,000. Okay. We've already paid off about $12,000.
$110,000.
56.
Just the emergency fund and... How much? We have $1,000 for that, and then I escrow my own homeowner's insurance and taxes. Yeah, you've got to pay that. Yeah, it's labeled. It's set aside. I think we're budgeting right. We're doing the right things. It's just that little fear factor. I don't want to leave any money on the table, but yet again, I want to get rid of this debt.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
