Do you understand?
Okay, well, okay.
Why do you make a rule?
Okay, great.
So you should be able to explain a rule that can protect somebody and the reason why it's in place.
So, yes, all rules should have an explanation of why.
If you cannot explain why that rule is in place, then that rule has no merit.
It's not valid.
It's pointless.
What is the point?
We don't need the rule then because there's no cause for the rule to be in need.
So I told them this a couple days ago, actually, I said, listen, I said, I don't care who it is, a teacher, cop, whatever.
If they say this is how it is, you have a right to say, explain to me why.
And you don't accept answers like, because I said so, because it's how it is.
Mm-hmm.
That's a lazy answer.
And you challenge that adult, your peer, whoever it is to explain.
And see that as a kid, I was looked at as defiant when really all I was looking for was explanation.
Just clarify with me why this is the way it is.
And that rarely happened.
