I mean, I wouldn't say that intense, but, you know, you have their lineup, you go through their lineup, you go through scouting report on, you know, their lineup based on how, you know, they've been doing the last 10 games based on what your pitcher does well, kind of based on where the defense is going to be playing that day.
So you take all that into consideration and you guys have a meeting to collaborate on it.
Make sure you didn't miss anything, and then kind of just game plan, and then as the game goes on, you adjust.
Yeah, but you get used to it.
I mean, at first...
I would say first year in the big leagues, it's very exhausting mentally.
It's a little bit overwhelming with the amount of information that you get and the amount of information that's handed to you.
The more that you do it, the more that you get used to it.
It just becomes second nature and part of the process.
you kind of know what you're doing and you know what you're getting yourself into.
So making sure that you have your own routine and, and when you're doing certain things in terms of scouting reports and, and other things along that nature throughout the day, it doesn't really speed up on you and you're able to kind of slow it down.
I mean, I think it's very important.
It's probably subjective, but, you know, you want to be on the same page as the starting pitcher.
You want to be able to have trust in your catcher that he did his work, that he prepared, and he โ
you know, he's ready for you and he's going to give you everything he's got mentally and physically behind the plate.
I think that gets the best out of the starting pitcher.
So just having, having that trust in the catcher that he's done all the work and he's, and he's ready to go, I think can, can give a slight edge.
But it's ultimately the pitcher has the ball, the pitchers, the one throwing the ball.
So, you know, all the success really comes down to, to him and, and,
You're going to get a mixed bag of emotion from me, right?
