No one ever thought
Gretzky would, his record would even become close.
And to have a guy in the modern day being able to beat Ovechkin and score 1,000 goals with playoffs, that's remarkable.
That is so crazy.
And when you think of Ovechkin, he wasn't like a Wayne Gretzky.
He wasn't just skill.
Like at the beginning of his career, he did it all.
he would hammer guys like he you when you stepped on the ice with certain guys like a tom wilson you had to keep your head up and it's identical to ovechkin in his prime like you needed to know he was on the ice because one he can absolutely put you in the top row by hitting you through the wall or he can score a hat trick so he was so dynamic in all those aspects
So to keep them off the top five, it doesn't make sense to do it.
See, when you think of top five, it is so hard to compare generations.
You can't compare Mary Lemieux's generation to Sidney Crosby's generation to McDavid's generation to even before their...
you know, the old Montreal Canadiens back in, you know, the 1970s or like Brian Troche's era.
So when you say put them in the top five, for a guy that was growing up watching at the end of their careers was Lemieux, Gretzky,
I couldn't comprehend how good these guys are.
But when I was in my private playing and seeing Oveskin, Crosby, even McDavid, I have more of a feel on where I place them in my generation of hockey players.
So in my generation of hockey players that I remember, I have Oveskin top three.
All right.
Crosby.
Crosby.
McDavid.
