I will just say that history's lesson is when you do try to sort of change your principles to fit a moment because you're trying to survive a moment, it is very hard to get back to where you were on the principle side of things.

And so, I mean, I think and I'm guessing you're more writing about sort of my stubbornness about this Virginia remap, which I just think is, again, this political environment right now, it's 6-5.

the first and the second in this political environment would both flip.

So we'd be at a three without changing the map at all, Virginia Democrats.

So now you're going through this entire rigmarole.

You're basically burning whatever political capital out of Abigail Spanberger got for two extra seats, not five extra seats, not four extra seats, two extra seats.

That's a lot of political capital for two extra seats that may not be that meaningful.

Look,

If it turns out Democrats win by five or less, then Virginia and California bailed the party out.

But it's not as if that's how Democrats win the House.

That's no mandate.

That's you know, that's not effective control.

That's technical control, but it's not effective control.

And it doesn't mean the voters really were affirming for Democrats to control the House.

It was basically, you know, anything less than five seats is just sort of a race by race contest.

So.

Look, what you describe, right, that is.

That's the judgment call.

But I think if you want – it all comes through short-termism, long-termism.
