And I also do read a lot of, like, gothic horror and stuff like that.
So I'm quite into that grotesque thing.
So I've come across some very intense stuff.
Not to say that this wasn't intense.
I did find it a little confronting as well.
And I think that's because it's kind of explored immediately with a character you aren't familiar with.
So it's just like, oh, okay, this is happening and this is happening.
So, you know, maybe in a way that made it easier for me because I hadn't had that connection with Helena just yet because we were kind of thrown into it immediately, like, oh, this is happening now.
But not to go into spoiler alert, once you find out more about it, you realize the gravity of all of this a lot more.
So I think I actually got through it a bit easier in the first section, if that makes sense.
Well, you read it most recently.
Yeah, so I finished it very recently.
And I've been in a bit of a slump.
So I'm not someone who I don't think I've read a book this long before in my life.
And I certainly don't have the attention span I used to as a kid.
But I actually had the experience where I
flew through part one quite quickly and then I kind of it was a bit of a slog for me to get through part two especially being with I felt like I was in this war with Helena and I think maybe that is the intention of that part of the book but um
Pace-wise, it is a long book, but Sen's done such a great job where you don't... Like, you still fly through it.
And as someone who's not a fantasy reader and who found this quite overwhelming, just to have that book in my lap felt like a brick.
It's still... You fly through it.
