Okay, so for this agony amp, hey gals, this is Mia.
I'm a mum of two girls, 11 and 13, and we're getting to a bit of a stage in life where I'm starting to need some help.
I want to ask, do I sit them down for the talk or do I just leave them to figure it out from TikTok friends and God knows what else?
I wouldn't do that.
I want them to be informed, but also the thought of me talking about the birds and the bees makes me break out in a cold sweat.
What if I say the wrong thing?
What if they laugh at me?
I know that leaving it to chance is wrong too.
So do I jump in or do I let them navigate the wild world of hormones and teenage slang on their own?
Thanks for any advice and maybe a pep talk for me too, because let's be honest, I'm going to need it.
