Yeah, so the original Jopson of Jopson's Malort was a cigar salesman and a very, very heavy smoker.
And supposedly, the reason why he liked Malort was it was one of the few things he could taste.
Have you come across that?
I will say that one thing that I have discovered is that you would think it would be the other way around.
Ever since I've gotten into cooking and doing things like the drink segment and drinking cocktails and really learning how to –
take apart and describe and understand what's going on in the flavor of something.
And then also to be able to figure out, all right, what could this use?
What could I add to this?
What do I need to take out of this to make this better?
I have found that I actually can drink things that I used to find horrendous and actually be.
So one of the big ones is if you poured me a glass of Jose Cuervo, I could actually drink it and enjoy it.
It's awful.
I would not recommend that to anybody, but I can taste the horrible rot gut sugar cane liquor that they put in that to round out the mixed dough to make it, you know, to make it, you know, 40, you know, to make it 51% tequila so that they can legally put the label on it.
I can kind of taste that and just kind of tune it out and ignore it.
And I can still taste the – it's still not great, pure agave tequila.
But the first time I ever tasted pure agave tequila, it was – I couldn't even believe that it was the same drink that I had tried in college.
And now I can now I can totally see where where the tequila is hiding in that.
And the same thing goes with Malort is that Malort has, of course, that sharp, sharp aspirin bitter note that just works.
hits you and it lingers and i don't mind super duper bitter things so i actually find that quite refreshing but there is a very very bright floral nature to it it's actually there's i it pairs very very well with uh with elderflower liqueurs uh in that sense i find it to be very floral and if you're good at taking apart flavors you can tell that otherwise you're just going to taste that it's like chewing on an aspirin
I'm the gun provider.
