And it is becoming a more finely balanced argument, I would absolutely accept.
So is it something you'd consider if you were Prime Minister?

But for now, it's a bit like, I mean, far less extreme example, granted.
But, you know, over the years on the left, we've had debates about, oh, you know, should we write for newspapers or give interviews to newspapers we disagree with, who've said things that we find morally objectionable.
And I generally think
Like, don't abandon spaces to your political opponents, because otherwise the public hear the worst character assassinations leveled by your opponents rather than your own case, your own argument.
And I think we've got to look closely at that.
And again, I say this is a more finely balanced argument.
But I would still come down on the side of this is a battle.
of ideas and values and we've got to win the argument and take it on.
I don't expect to provide a running commentary on what's going on in the United States and the policies of the US administration and government and president.
And I expect the US administration to show the same respect in return.
We are two of the closest allies the world has ever seen.
We've got so many shared interests.
