They just wanted to have access to a digital agency.
And back then, traditional advertising was really important.
Not that it's not important now, but landscapes change so much.
But having the access and the ability to bring that to bear, both digital and offline advertising, was a big deal, which is kind of where that leads to that Eli Lilly opportunity.
He did not.
Okay.
I don't think he'd want me to share all of his details, but he did not.
There were other partners.
There was GS and W, the three founding partners, and I believe he was in the process of buying out the W. Got it.
But the G and the S were both fully active.
Yeah.
And I think beyond that, by 97, you couldn't do anything without hearing internet.
And so I think everyone was trying to figure out how to do something with the word internet in it, whether it was a good idea or not.
Ours wound up being a real good deal.
But beyond that, everyone was trying to swing for internet at the time.
It was, and I'll expand on that just a little bit.
I won't go into too many specifics, but you'll definitely get the point.
Up until that point, I'd been living in either my college dorm or my college campus apartment.
And so post-deal, I have enough money to go buy a house, to go buy a car, to do the basic things in life.
And I learned a forever lesson at that moment.
