Oh, it's totally important.
This is one of those things where it's just some random kid.
Maybe someday Jeff Zepatka listens to this.
It's not like Jeff Bezos.
Anyway, I tell my dad, I'm like, hey, dad, I really need to get this modem thing.
My dad has no idea what I'm talking about.
He's a carpenter.
He's like, go mow lawns, plow driveways, do what you do in order to get some money.
So they have the money.
Again, which city were you doing this and where you weren't this is in Fairfield, Connecticut more specifically Monroe at the time, but same here and I Saved up enough money.
I buy this modem and funny thing about that the modem basically works just like a telephone Okay, but except set up to call other computers But the moment you plug it in your parents line and call someone else you're tying up the line for basically in an you know in forever and
And so the moment I plugged back that computer to the modem, modem to the house line was the last time I think my parents ever got an incoming call.
It was right the next seven years.
And but but here's what was so amazing about this turning point.
And I didn't appreciate it at the time.
And this is one of those things where parents look at their kids.
You don't really understand the things that are going to kind of change the trajectory of their lives.
I went all in because I wanted as many computer games as possible.
I built a bulletin board system, which was, you know, kind of our equivalent now of a website and started trading with all kids all over Southern Connecticut into New York and got way, way into it.
And it was just a hobby.
