be fair to the man we've ordered the banana boat the banana boat is on the way the banana boat yeah the banana boat was like Chekhov's gun it's mentioned at the start of the movie and then eventually comes in again at a time to undercut the drama it's the exact same as the sauna there's a really Eanna Hardwick's acting as Chopsoft

A movie we talked about on our sports film podcast that is a comedy, Mike Bassett, England manager, actually nails the football realism far greater.

Their portrayal of the FA bigwigs and their ineptitude is spot on.

And it's not done in a kind of a cringy way.

It's like, you know, if they'd been able to transplant that kind of level of detail about what kind of football blazers are like and put it in this movie, I think it would have been a lot stronger.

In that scene, though, I keep mentioning it because the training ground, he's like, when did we qualify for the World Cup?

That could have been teased out better with drama.

Because it was a ridiculous situation, but it wasn't necessarily a funny situation.

You know, it was ridiculous what was happening on the other side of the world.

Like, how is this unfolding in a place no one's ever heard of?

But it wasn't necessarily funny.

Forgetting the balls is kind of somewhat funny, but I just think it could have been played in a different way and then much more effective.

At that point, I thought it was going to be more like Shakespearean almost.

And we got that in instances of Roy Keane brooding, like almost, you know, like kind of up on his own in the hotel room.
