And there's already a lot of that in Colorado, and they know
That's a group of people that don't have it easy.
It's like in the data.
So for those folks, the idea that, hey, maybe there's something systemic that we can do that's not about throwing money at things.
That's not about infantilizing anybody.
It's not about a big state.
It's about empowering a group of people, viewing them as important and asking what can we do for them?
And so now we find ourselves
with a law that a draft law that's been proposed in Colorado.
It's currently in the Colorado Senate that is sponsored by the leading Democrats and leading Republicans in the state.
And the governor is also embracing it.
And knock on wood, we will be able to get it passed here in the next six weeks or so.
That's what we're working towards.
But it really started from
Personal pain that I knew many friends, peers had gone through.
I'd been having many conversations with people in a not dissimilar boat.
And then just flashing back to the PBC experience and just thinking that was a model for legally endorsing a method of behaving in the world, basically.
And yes, artists can go to an entertainment lawyer and make a custom LLC or S Corp now, which is what people do who are more advanced.
However, if we're all just doing that ad hoc one-off, there's no larger system that gets made.
It's just disconnected and nobody knows what anybody else is doing.
