I do think that a lot of the Japanese work culture does come through in the book.
And I'm sure we'll come to it at the end, but when she reaches her conclusion about how she feels about working, it's very much, I think, ingrained in her.
And her work ethic does come through because she's always doing that little bit extra.
We even see her choosing to stay back after work at her next job and doing all this extra stuff, even though there are these, you know, super nothing-y jobs, she still does extra.
I mean, I was, you know, a part of the camp that enjoyed the humour.
I liked the subtlety of the humour.
And I think the ending was very satisfying.
So I definitely recommend it.
So we meet Paddy who is married to Frank who we learn about a bit later on as a bit of a useless man and there's some quite humorous descriptions of him from Paddy's sisters who are quite harsh in their observations.
I think at one point he's described as gormless.
But there's Paddy and then a slightly younger Paddy
woman called Faye in her late 20s.
And the way she's introduced is quite interesting because we see her introduced through the eyes of Patty, who I get the feeling might be slightly jealous of Faye because I don't think she's getting much action at home.
So Faye is, well, Faye used to be a cocktail waitress and she had someone who was a bit like a sugar daddy character, I guess, Mr. Marlowe.
And she's been dating a lot of men and talks a lot about these men at work, which Patty doesn't like so much.
And I think, you know, there's a bit of jealousy there.
And she even says, what does she say?
