And so the reality of this needs to be empathised with.
It's not a matter of reducing accountability.
It's not a matter of going, oh, actually...
everything you do can be condoned.
But it is a matter of understanding that if a population, a large population, like young men, do not feel like they have a place in society, a purpose or a meaning that actually gets them out of bed in the morning, they will gravitate towards someone who tells them that they do matter.
And those people happen to be weaponising their attention, commercialising everything.
Instead of actually getting to the point where we as a society are lifting up young guys and saying, if all boats do not rise, young women will pay the price in many ways if young men are floundering.
You know, everybody must thrive, not just survive, in order for society to move forward.
And this lack of social cohesion that the Prime Minister and otherwise continue to talk about is...
if we continue with this splintering of genders where we do these surveys and we look at the fact that Gen Z men and women have such different views, we don't ever pay attention to the similarities and try to bridge those gaps.
And that's something that I think we need to do.
There is.
And I think that I completely understand and empathize with young women's lack of
They don't have the time to fix everything.
They're trying to make their way in the world.
And so to suggest now that young men, you know, picking them up is your problem, that is not what this is about.
Two truths can coexist, which is that young women continue and have a history of long-term disempowerment and struggles against systems and structures that were working against them.
And to suggest that...
that cannot be the case for young men today.
