Nearly all three running backs on that Iowa State team had almost over 100 carries.
The third running back had 93.
It was a pretty fairly even split between Carson Hanson, Abu Sama, and Jackson, their third running back.
The split carries were 150 to 130 to 90, basically.
That is a pretty even split, honestly, in my opinion, where we saw it really condensed to Singleton and Allen, Singleton and Allen, Singleton and Allen.
I'm under the impression we'll see all three running backs this season because they are all good at different things.
You need them for a variety of things.
You need peoples to use the speed to break away from the defense and get you some of those big play runs.
You have Quentin Martin who can do a little bit of everything.
He'll be used primarily as the pass catcher, so to speak, out of the backfield if I had to choose any one of the three.
And then Carson Hanson is your touchdown machine, your short yardage guy, because he's 6'2", 225 pounds.
Good luck stopping that at the goal line.
And who's to say you can't?
I tried to say this with Andy Kotelnicki and Mike Yursich once upon a time that you should be running 21 and 22 personnel, meaning that you have two running backs on the football field or you just run 20, okay?
Maybe you don't even need a tight end in that case.
The point is, why not have Peoples and Martin on the football field at the same time?
Peoples and Hanson, Hanson and Martin, because you have the leverage here.
These guys are too talented to just sit on the bench.
You don't bring him in by accident.
He is not a depth piece.
