And so I remember that being an early moment of like, hey, I own a piece of the company.
I may have started the company, but it's not just my company anymore.
But that was a good experience.
I didn't have a problem with it.
And then...
When I sold the whole company to Chime CSM, I think at that point I was ready.
I don't think I would have been ready for a Chime CSM full acquisition in 2008.
I think I benefited from 2008 and over that five-year period.
gradually becoming more and more disconnected, not from running the business, but from feeling like I own the business.
So when I sold 100% of it, it wasn't a culture shock like I think it would have been had I done that in 2008.
And then ultimately it felt like a job.
They put me in as group CEO.
I was working on other sports, most of which I don't have a passion for.
And I was ready to get out of there only because I was doing things that I wasn't passionate about.
Cricket, rugby, Olympics, football, with all due respect.
You know, I didn't grow up around those sports.
So I think the sports I love, motor racing, golf, baseball, ice hockey, tennis, are the sports I grew up playing.
So what I've been able to do is directly correlate if I played it and I grew up watching it.
Then I have a passion for it.
Soccer slash football wasn't a thing in America.
