将来予測が難しい現代を、「VUCAの時代」と呼びます。VUCAは、変動性、不確実性、複雑性、あいまい性の頭文字をとったものです。世界経済は、1990年には先進７カ国（Ｇ７）が世界のGDPの70%近くを占めていましたが、2022年には42%に低下しました。世界が多極化し、意見がまとまりにくい状況になっています。 生物の進化論の著者、チャールズ・ダーウィンは「強い種や賢い種ではなく、変化に適応できた種が生き残った」と記しています。企業や個人も、環境変化への適応力が求められます。個人は、「自分にできることは何か」、「自分は何がやりたいか、意味を感じるか」、「社会が求めていることは何か」の重なり合う部分を探し続ける必要があります。
