And yesterday, my wife and I one of the most joyous moments of our life had the privilege to marry off our son to a beautiful young woman. And Lena and I shed tears because 21 years, we had that arrow in a quiver.
Psalm 27, 127, we stretched that arrow in discipleship, pointed that arrow towards the purposes of God,
and officially released that arrow yesterday into everything that God is calling to do him and his new wife.
And yesterday at that wedding, There were black families and white families, Hispanic families
and Asians. And it was this beautiful mixture of ethnicity and race and color. It looked like heaven. And this morning when I was praying at 3 a.m. and I was praying over them and praying over their marriage and I was having visions of of the day before. I was reminded of the scene in Revelation of the great marriage supper of the Lamb. When the scripture tells us a day is coming when all of us who belong to Christ will be united to him in a great wedding. We will cast our crowns and receive rewards. And we would eat and drink and be married. Our robes would have been washed in the blood of the Lamb. And I actually look forward to the day when I will be united with my Savior in person at that great wedding.
And I was reminded that that wedding is coming for all of us who have placed our faith in Christ. We will be with the Lord forever.
Hallelujah. Come on, sister. Hallelujah. Come on. That's what I'm talking about. Hallelujah.
And thank God for earthly weddings and the joy of earthly weddings. They are just pictures of the joy we're going to have in glory when we are married to Christ.
And I was reminded yesterday that I was crying because My perspective was off going into the wedding and like, man, we're losing our son. But no, I was reminded by someone I love that I'm not losing a son. I gained a daughter. And increased our family with faces that don't even look like mine. And Jesus is beautiful for that. Because the kingdom does not belong to one race.
Or one ethnicity. These are lies of the devil. The gospel is for all men, all people, all races, all ethnicities.
And I was thankful for the beautiful picture we saw. And if you are here for the first time, we welcome you to 2019 where we are serious about the spread of the gospel and the multiplying
of disciples. And to all of our digital disciples watching live across the nation and around the world, We welcome you right now. You're our family. We love you. We pray for you. And if you're not a follower of Christ, we know that you're in the room. Somebody dragged you here. You crept up in here. You're still exploring the claims of Christ. Not sure if you're a Christian. Confused about why we would spend so long in praise. My prayer for you is that a day will come where you will be snatched out of darkness and brought into this marvelous light where you will feel the joy that we feel and the peace that we feel. And you'll be able to praise with us. That's my prayer for you before time has run out. Today, what I want to do with our time we have together, I want to encourage our hearts around one thing.
