Between Moses Atama and Philip Hurgovich was one of the most draining and emotional fights I think I've ever covered. It ended in the ninth round with Moses collapsed into the ropes. He hadn't been hit specifically, he'd been clubbed a few times, but he had absolutely nothing left in his tank. On the opposite side of the ring, bleeding from an eye wound and also from his mouth was
Filip Hergovich, the Croatian. Now he could also barely stand. These two outrockied Rocky for about six or seven of those nine rounds. Hergovich is the new IBF heavyweight champion of the world. Moses Satama went off to hospital exhausted and also with some kind of leg injury. We always recalled live pods from big fights immediately. Instantly it's finished. We go and find somewhere. We're in Sam Noakes' dressing room underneath here in the bows of the um Of the of the O two. And Rich, as you can tell from my voice, and I know it's in your voice as well, it's exhausting. Try and make sense of what happened in that fight. Because I I don't know about you, Rich, but I think Mozatama won all eight of the completed rounds.

And it he gambled and it just didn't pay off because Hergovich, I think probably um Moses Atomer um has under underestimated his chin. Yeah. Um he's he's definitely underestimated Hergovich's chin. And um and he's underestimated his powers of recovery and he recovered. And he I just I can't believe what I witnessed. But we were saying it all week, Steve.
All week this is not everyone that we've met most people that we spoke to have all said. Yeah. One,
two or three rounds, be a walkover I
haven't spoken to one person who says I'm on your side. Everyone says Moses and everyone says Moses early and easy. And not just
early, but easy.
And people were saying to me, uh, what do you think? And I said, Well, I actually think it's it's it's quite a difficult fight. Then they were looking at me as if I was bar me. And I say, No, I I think I think I think Moses will win. I said, But I think you could go late stoppage or points. I said, If I gotta go either way, I said I'd probably go points. And they looked at me as if I was crazy. I've had text from people saying, What are you talking about? It's gonna be Moses and it's gonna be early. Everyone was so convinced that it was gonna be Most of the time at early and it just w he gambled Steve, but Ergovitch come through.
